Pauline Terry completed our innovated combined Certificate III in Aged Care, Disabilities and Home and Community Care course which was funded through the Department of State Development, Strategic Employment Fund program.
Pauline’s life changed in January 2016 when she was called in for an interview for a position that she applied for. The follow day she received a phone call to inform her that she was successful in securing the position and would commence orientation in the following week.
Pauline Terry spent most of her working life as a machine operator in various manufacturing businesses apart from 2 years where she stopped working to care for her mother, and had no further education beyond Year 10. In 2014 she was retrenched as a machine operator for a food manufacturing business and came to DOME in July 2015. After completing the 5 month course and 6 weeks of work placement, Pauline secured work as a disability carer.
It has been three months since Pauline commenced working in the Disability Sector and she is very happy. It is such a rewarding position and the clients are lovely, funny and have a great sense of humour. She provides services to both adults and children.
All the staff at DOME wish Pauline all the best in her new adventures.
